Baku: The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Azerbaijan recently held their second consular consultations meeting in Baku, highlighting the strong partnership and shared vision between the two nations. Both countries reiterated their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various areas, particularly consular affairs, to achieve sustainable progress and strengthen bilateral relations.
According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE delegation was led by Rashed Nadhar Rahmah, Director of the Consular Services Department at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He expressed gratitude for the hospitality of the Azerbaijani delegation, led by Emil Safarov, Director of the Consular Services Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Rahmah conveyed greetings from H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and emphasized the importance of improving coordination in consular services and adopting best practices for efficient service delivery.
The meeting involved discussions on shared consular objectives and collaborative plans for development. Both sides acknowledged the growing momentum in UAE-Azerbaijan relations, especially after the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, alongside recent high-level visits from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.
The consultations concluded with a mutual commitment to ongoing collaboration under the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
