Cairo: Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, held discussions with Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf in Egypt, focusing on enhancing cooperation and exchanging programs and initiatives to promote religious awareness and serve communities in both nations.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the "Making of the Competent Mufti in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" conference in Cairo. Both parties underscored the significance of supporting and developing joint efforts in the religious and awqaf fields, as well as promoting Islamic values that advocate for tolerance, coexistence, and peace.
The meeting also saw the presence of Dr. Sabaa Salem Al Kaabi from the UAE Council For FATWA, alongside several officials from both countries.
