Abu Dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan engaged in discussions with His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to enhance the fraternal relations between the two nations and explore avenues for cooperation in various sectors. The talks focused on shared development goals and mutual interests.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place during President El-Sisi's visit to the UAE, where he was received by Sheikh Mohamed at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi. The leaders exchanged greetings and best wishes for Eid Al Adha, expressing hopes for continued prosperity for their countries and peoples.
The discussions also covered regional and international issues, with an emphasis on recent developments in the Middle East. Both leaders underscored the need for intensified efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to establish a political framework for peace based on a two-state solution.
Sheikh Mohamed and President El-Sisi reiterated their commitment to ongoing consultation and coordination between the UAE and Egypt. They highlighted the importance of regional peace, security, and stability as foundations for development and prosperity.
A luncheon was hosted by Sheikh Mohamed in honor of President El-Sisi following the meeting. The event was attended by several high-ranking UAE officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, and Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister.
President El-Sisi concluded his visit and was seen off at the Presidential Airport by Sheikh Mohamed and other dignitaries.
