UAE and India Strengthen Ties with Multiple Agreements and Memoranda

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have overseen the exchange of several agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation between the UAE and India. The exchanges transpired during Sheikh Mohamed's working visit to India.

According to Emirates News Agency, the documents exchanged included a Letter of Intent on a Strategic Defence Partnership, signed by UAE's Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and India's Minister of External Affairs Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. Additionally, a Letter of Intent between the UAE Space Agency and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) was exchanged to launch a collaborative space initiative, involving UAE Minister Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

Further agreements comprised a Sales and Purchase Agreement between ADNOC Gas and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, exchanged by UAE Minister Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber and Indian Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. A Memorandum of Understanding on Food Safety between the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and India's APEDA was also signed by Minister Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy and Vikram Misri.

Lastly, a Letter of Intent on Investment Cooperation focused on the development of the Dholera Special Investment Region in Gujarat was exchanged by UAE Minister Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, highlighting the continued commitment to bilateral economic collaboration.
