Sanya: The UAE National Jiu-Jitsu team concluded its participation in the Sanya 2026 Asian Beach Games with a total of six medals, comprising two gold, two silver, and two bronze.
According to Emirates News Agency, on the final day of the competition, Mahdi Al Awlaqi earned a silver medal in the men's 77kg category, while Shamsa Al Ameri won a bronze in the women's 57kg division. Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, stated that the success was the result of sustained investment in athlete development and technical excellence.
Coach Gabriel Alves highlighted the high tactical standard of the matches, emphasizing that the team's achievements were due to disciplined positioning and tempo control, which was crucial against formidable continental opponents.
