UAE, Mauritania discuss strengthening religious cooperation

Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, held talks with Sidi Yahya Lemrabet, Mauritania's Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, to discuss enhancing collaboration in the religious sphere. During the meeting, held at the authority's premises in Abu Dhabi, both sides explored ways to deepen their cooperation, exchange expertise, and share knowledge through research, focusing on strengthening the role of religious leaders like imams, preachers, and scholars. They emphasised the importance of portraying Islam in a way that highlights its true essence-compassion, mercy, and moral values-stressing the need for continued efforts to demonstrate these principles in today's world.
