Osaka: The National Experts Programme (NEP), a platform for Emirati experts to lead in future-growth sectors aligned with UAE's national priorities, has become a key part of the official activities at the UAE National Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
According to Emirates News Agency, fourteen programme members are attending the world fair from 17th to 24th September, with a follow-up visit planned from 30th September to 7th October. The UAE Pavilion, themed "Earth to Ether," offers a multisensory experience that traces the nation's journey from its roots to its future ambitions, focusing on space exploration, healthcare, and sustainability.
The participation of NEP underscores its mission to empower Emirati experts and showcases the UAE's investment in human talent to foster innovation. Ahmed Taleb Al Shamsi, Director of the NEP, stated that Expo 2025 Osaka offers Emirati experts a platform to share knowledge, forge partnerships, and engage in global dialogue. The UAE is committed to using higher education, research, and innovation for knowledge diplomacy to strengthen international relationships and address common challenges.
NEP Experts are organizing two events at the UAE Pavilion. On 17th September, Saood Al Noori, Head of Diplomatic Engagement at the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change Office, moderated a roundtable titled 'Shaping the Future.' The discussion centered on the role of leadership programs in creating a future-ready society. On 1st October, NEP Experts will host the Future Vision Forum, moderated by Marwah Fadhel, a project manager at Abu Dhabi Media Office, to explore avenues for bilateral and international collaboration.
The National Experts Programme is also distributing two reports at the UAE Pavilion. "Bridging Futures" highlights collaborations between the UAE and Japan in space exploration, renewable energy, robotics, and sustainable infrastructure, aligning with Expo 2025 Osaka's themes and the UAE's national objectives. The report, enriched with photography and expert commentaries, illustrates the progress driven by these partnerships.
The second report, "Tech Trends," is a digital resource summarizing emerging technologies such as AI, quantum computing, and sustainable innovations. It features infographics and concise case notes, along with expert commentaries providing context and insights into new opportunities and real-world implications.
Expo 2025 Osaka, under the theme 'Designing Future Society for Our Lives,' is being held on Yumeshima, an artificial island in Osaka Bay, as part of Osaka City, the largest city in Japan's Kansai region. The event runs from 13th April to 13th October.
