UAE to Attend COP10 in Paris for Anti-Doping Convention

Paris: The UAE National Anti-Doping Agency (UAE NADA) is set to join the 10th session of the Conference of Parties (COP10) to the International Convention against Doping in Sport. This significant event will be hosted by UNESCO at its Paris headquarters from October 20th to 22nd.

According to Emirates News Agency, COP10 will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Convention, offering a platform to evaluate two decades of progress and to map out future strategies for maintaining the integrity, ethics, and values in sports. Dr. Mai Ahmed Al Jaber, President of UAE NADA, emphasized that the UAE's involvement highlights its dedication to enforcing international standards and enhancing global collaboration to protect sports competition integrity.

Dr. Al Jaber mentioned that the conference will tackle several critical issues, such as evaluating nations' adherence to the International Convention, improving cooperation with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to standardize efforts and policies, and introducing a new action plan to eradicate doping in sports.

In addition, Dr. Al Jaber noted that UAE NADA will also participate in the World Anti-Doping Conference scheduled from December 1st to 5th in Busan, South Korea. This global gathering will include athletes and over 1,500 representatives from various sectors, including sports organizations, governments, anti-doping agencies, laboratories, service providers, researchers, and media, all working towards the goal of keeping sports free from prohibited substances and practices.
