Abu Dhabi: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the UAE will host the Second Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean Women Parliamentary Forum in Abu Dhabi from 17th to 18th June 2025. The UAE's Federal National Council will represent the nation at this significant event.
According to Emirates News Agency, the annual forum, established on 8 March 2021, coinciding with International Women's Day, is designed to address gender-related issues. Discussions during the forum will focus on achieving gender equality, enhancing female representation in political spheres, and examining the effects of the pandemic on gender balance.
The forum will span two days and will be chaired by Maryam Majid bin Theneya, FNC's Second Deputy Speaker and current President of the Women Parliamentary Forum. The event will be organized under the theme: "Empowering Women for Cohesive and Inclusive Societies: From the Gulf to the Mediterranean."
