Abu dhabi: ADIPEC 2025 opened today in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Hosted by ADNOC, ADIPEC is taking place until Thursday, 6th November. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, called on energy industry leaders, policy makers, and investors to adopt the UAE's pragmatic policies and bold partnerships to enhance job creation, socioeconomic growth, and global competitiveness.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Al Jaber emphasized that the UAE's pragmatic approach, grounded in reality, builds investor confidence and serves as a model for credible, technology-driven, investment-friendly policy solutions. He highlighted that the UAE optimizes energy, attracts capital, and collaborates with industry on practical policy solutions, which results in a continuous flow of global capital into the country due to its credibility and predictability.
Dr. Al Jaber cited ADNOC's achievements as evidence of the UAE's pragmatic approach in advancing technology to enable progress. He noted that ADNOC is leveraging technologies such as AI and robotics to enhance performance and efficiency. The company's flagship program, Energy to the Power of AI, is set to make production forecasts 90 percent more accurate, underscoring ADNOC's focus on becoming an AI-native energy company.
He urged the energy industry, policy makers, and investors to focus on material business matters amid geopolitical challenges. He stressed the importance of balancing cost discipline with capital investment and maintaining a focus on efficiency while investing in people, technology, and AI to meet long-term energy demand.
Dr. Al Jaber highlighted the need for a $4 trillion annual capital investment in grids, data centers, and all energy sources to meet future demand. He outlined major demand drivers through 2040, including a surge in electricity demand, growth in aviation, and increased use of renewables and LNG. He emphasized that energy transition is complex and involves energy reinforcement rather than replacement.
He also noted the crucial role of energy in enabling global prosperity, stating that energy equals jobs, growth, competitiveness, and intelligence. The ENACT Majlis, held on the eve of ADIPEC, echoed this message, discussing how energy and AI can drive economic growth.
Dr. Al Jaber detailed the UAE's efforts to attract investment and strengthen long-term partnerships, emphasizing ADNOC's global expansion through its international investment arm XRG. He reiterated the UAE's openness to business and bold partnerships.
Concluding his address, Dr. Al Jaber highlighted UAE Flag Day, which coincides with ADIPEC's opening day. He emphasized the importance of unity and collective progress in achieving real advancements in the industry, underscoring the resilience and resolve that bind and drive the nation forward.
