Abu dhabi: US President Donald Trump commended the UAE's prominent role in supporting his peace plan to end the war in Gaza.
According to Emirates News Agency, President Trump declared "peace in the Middle East" as he opened his speech to a gathering of world leaders in Egypt, marking the inauguration of his plan to resolve the conflict in Gaza. He emphasized the historic nature of the event, stating, "This is the day that people across the region and around the world have been working, striving, hoping and prayed for."
Trump highlighted the unprecedented achievements made over the past month, acknowledging the efforts that many had deemed impossible. Celebrating the signing of a historic agreement, he expressed that "the prayers of millions have finally been answered."
He described the current moment as "a new and beautiful day," signifying the beginning of a rebuilding phase. Trump underscored that the breakthrough not only marks the end of the war in Gaza but also represents a potential new beginning for the Middle East. He conveyed hope for a region that is united, strong, stable, prosperous, and committed to rejecting terror.
The President announced that the war in Gaza is concluded and highlighted the arrival of humanitarian aid, including hundreds of truckloads of essential supplies such as food and medical equipment.
Trump extended his gratitude to regional partners for their support, particularly acknowledging the contributions of the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Trkiye, and Qatar. He specifically thanked President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt for hosting the event with generosity and for Egypt's leadership role in achieving peace.
