Sharjah: Sharjah Charity International (SCI) has launched a relief initiative that supports 700 vulnerable families in Jordan, consisting of 200 Jordanian families and 500 Syrian refugee families, by distributing essential winter supplies to meet their immediate needs. The initiative aims to alleviate the hardships faced by these communities during the harsh winter months.
According to Emirates News Agency, the organisation also organised a special event for orphaned children and their mothers. This event featured entertainment activities and the distribution of gifts, providing a moment of joy and relief to those who attended.
Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the SCI Board of Directors, emphasized the continuation of the organisation's longstanding efforts to support Syrian refugees, low-income families, and orphans in Jordan. He mentioned that supporting orphans is a core focus of SCI's work in the country, highlighting that their orphan-sponsorship programme currently benefits around 4,000 children across the Kingdom.
