Abu dhabi: The 3rd International Zayed Award for Human Fraternity Majlis, organized by Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ahead of its annual award ceremony, is set to take place at the Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi. This event will convene distinguished decision-makers, international female and youth leaders, and experts for comprehensive dialogue on urgent humanitarian challenges, the promotion of human fraternity globally, and the development of pathways to peace.
According to Emirates News Agency, this marks the first time the event is being held at the newly inaugurated Zayed National Museum, which honors the UAE’s rich history and the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founder and the award’s namesake. Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and a member of the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity judging committee, will deliver remarks on behalf of the committee ahead of the opening panel.
The event will open with a session titled, “Female Leadership at the Heart of Human Fraternity,” featuring international female leaders such as Megawati Sukarnoputri, the first female president of Indonesia and a 2024 Zayed Award judging committee member, as well as the First Ladies of Lebanon, Pakistan, and Colombia, among others. The session will highlight how these leaders have strengthened human fraternity values and the social fabric of their nations.
A second session, “Humanitarian Response in Action: Leading with Courage, Compassion, and Integrity,” will explore strategies and partnerships to support crisis-affected communities and expedite urgent assistance delivery in disaster and conflict-stricken regions. Speakers for this session include Nobel Peace Laureate Jos© Ramos-Horta, cardiac surgeon Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub, and CEO of World Central Kitchen Javier Garcia, among others.
Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, emphasized that the Majlis serves as a global platform for dialogue on advancing human fraternity values and fostering coexistence and mutual understanding worldwide. This initiative reflects the award’s commitment to transforming shared human values into actionable solutions to counter hate and division and create a more just and humane world.
The Majlis is a key annual initiative of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, commemorating the UN-recognized International Day of Human Fraternity on 4th February. The award, now in its seventh edition, will honor the historic peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Afghan girls’ education advocate Zarqa Yaftali, and Palestinian humanitarian organization Taawon during its annual ceremony in Abu Dhabi.
