Dubai: Emirati businessman Abdul Rahim Belghozooz Al Zarooni has announced a contribution of AED10 million to support the Edge of Life campaign. This initiative, launched during Ramadan by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to rescue five million children from hunger. The campaign's goal is to raise a minimum of AED1 billion to combat childhood hunger worldwide.
According to Emirates News Agency, the Edge of Life campaign is organized in partnership with UNICEF, Save the Children, the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and Action Against Hunger. It operates under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and seeks to inspire a community movement that supports its goals. The campaign focuses on children in the world's most vulnerable communities, especially those affected by natural disasters and conflicts. Alarming statistics highlight that malnutrition and hunger claim the lives of five children under the age of 5 every minute globally.
The campaign encourages contributions from all community members, fostering values of compassion and solidarity. Al Zarooni expressed pride in participating, emphasizing the UAE's commitment to humanitarian causes and the promotion of generosity as part of the Emirati identity.
Donations to the campaign are accepted through seven main channels, including the campaign's website (www.edgeoflife.ae) and a dedicated call center (800 4999). Contributions can also be made via bank transfers to Emirates Islamic Bank, SMS donations, and platforms such as the DubaiNow app, YallaGive.com, and Jood.ae.
