Mansoor bin Mohammed Leads Initiative for People of Determination in Dubai

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination, chaired a meeting with members of the Community Development Authority in Dubai and representatives from various government entities. The meeting was focused on reviewing initiatives designed to position Dubai as a leader in the inclusion and empowerment of People of Determination through comprehensive strategies.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor emphasized Dubai's commitment to supporting People of Determination by overcoming challenges, creating opportunities, and promoting active societal participation, in alignment with the Dubai Social Agenda 2033. He underscored efforts to build an inclusive society that provides solutions for the educational, professional, social, and service needs of People of Determination, aiming for Dubai to be a global model for empowerment and sustainable development.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor approved the 'Dubai Speaks Sign Language' initiative, positioning Dubai among the first cities offering sign language across all smart and digital services. This initiative aims to enhance inclusion for those with hearing impairments and train staff in basic sign language, reinforcing the city's leadership in inclusive communication in various public facilities.

H.H. Sheikh Mansoor also reviewed the Community Development Authority's plan to create a unified database for People of Determination to improve data accuracy and accessibility for policymaking. He urged quick implementation to bolster empowerment, social inclusion, and service planning.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director-General of the Community Development Authority, remarked that the meeting is a pivotal milestone in government integration and sustainable service delivery for People of Determination, supporting Dubai's leadership vision of global inclusivity and quality of life.

Held alongside the 7th edition of the AccessAbilities Expo at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the meeting also highlighted the Committee's role in implementing leadership vision and advancing Dubai's quality of life initiatives. Government entities presented key programs, including Dubai Municipality's 'Wusool' accessibility service, employment initiatives by the Government of Dubai Human Resources Department, and the Roads and Transport Authority's mobility projects.

The Committee's future focus will be on standardizing data and services with the Dubai Health Authority and other entities, alongside launching initiatives to enhance employment and workforce participation for People of Determination.
