SEC Approves Sharjah Museums Authority’s New Organisational Structure

Sharjah: The Sharjah Executive Council held a meeting on Tuesday morning, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, was in attendance.

According to Emirates News Agency, the council discussed various important topics related to the government, focusing on improving operations, evaluating departmental performance, and assessing development projects across Sharjah. A significant decision was made to transfer Abdulrahman Abdullah Mohammed Al Naqbi from his role as Director of Khorfakkan Municipality to the Roads and Transport Authority, where he will serve as the Director of the Branches Department.

Additionally, Khalfan Saleh Al Harithi Al Naqbi, previously the Director of the Branches Department at the Sharjah Department of Economic Development, has been promoted to the rank of Department Director under the Sharjah Government Special Jobs System. He will now take the position of Director of Khorfakkan Municipality.

The council approved a new plan aimed at improving the organisation of the Sharjah Museums Authority, ensuring that it can fulfill its responsibilities more effectively. The General Secretariat has been instructed to take the necessary steps to implement this new structure formally.

The council also reviewed the 2024 achievements report from the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, highlighting several initiatives such as 25 visits to fishing groups, 16 events, 11 initiatives, 138 training sessions, and 1,175 transactions for fishermen. Key projects include an aquaculture farm focusing on food security and fish population enhancement, and the installation of artificial caves along the eastern coast to boost fish populations and protect wildlife.

Moreover, the report detailed plans for a fishermen's village in Al Hamriyah, featuring essential facilities such as parking areas for boats, storage buildings, housing with administrative offices, and a mosque accommodating 200 people. Agreements were mentioned with scientific and government organizations to enhance research and training in the fishing industry, ensuring efficient service delivery to fishermen.
