Tokyo: Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, recently visited prominent community-based organizations in Tokyo. Her visit was part of her participation in Expo Osaka 2025 and focused on initiatives in peace, education, and environmental awareness.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikha Dr. Shamma explored leading initiatives at Peace Boat and the International Nature School, reflecting a global commitment to sustainable development and intercultural dialogue. At Peace Boat, she was welcomed by Yoshioka Tatsuya, the organization's Founder and Director, who provided an overview of their efforts in promoting peace, environmental protection, and sustainability. Sheikha Dr. Shamma appreciated their initiatives, noting their alignment with her institution's mission and values.
Concluding her visit, Sheikha Dr. Shamma gifted a collection of books about the UAE, including some of her own works, as part of her 'Knowledge for Humanity' initiative. This initiative aims to enhance the UAE's cultural and intellectual presence globally by sharing books about the country and its leadership with institutions worldwide.
At the International Nature School, Sheikha Dr. Shamma engaged in discussions on potential collaboration to promote environmental awareness among children in both the UAE and Japan. She also presented books, including 'Grandfather Hamdan's Treasure,' a children's story by Sheikha Rodha bint Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
