Sharjah Ruler Initiates Sharjah Hospitality Group for Enhanced Hospitality Services

Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree establishing the Sharjah Hospitality Group, a new government entity in the emirate.

According to Emirates News Agency, this independent group will be affiliated with the Sharjah Family and Community Council, possessing legal personality and the capacity to achieve its set objectives and perform its duties.

The newly formed Sharjah Hospitality Group will be headquartered in Sharjah, with potential expansion into other cities and regions within the emirate, as determined by the Chairperson. Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi will preside over the group, with the authority to appoint suitable individuals for management and oversight roles.

The Chairperson holds extensive powers under the Decree, including the ability to establish, merge, or dissolve entities affiliated with the group, as well as form or dissolve committees or councils. The Chairperson will also manage the group's budget and can delegate responsibilities to senior staff. Moreover, the Chairperson may establish, introduce, or amend administrative positions and organizational structures within the group.

The group's responsibilities include developing public policies for hospitality services, setting strategic plans, and establishing activity standards. It will oversee the management and operation of its facilities, ensuring alignment with professional practices and standards. The group is also tasked with implementing hospitality and wellbeing programs, enhancing public and private sector partnerships, and monitoring service quality through periodic evaluations. Training and development of specialized human resources in hospitality will also be a focus.

According to the Decree, the Sharjah Hospitality Group will oversee and manage the Sharjah Ladies Club and Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre. Other hospitality-related projects and entities may be included under its umbrella upon the Chairperson's decision.

Financially, the group will be supported by government allocations, revenues from affiliated entities, and income from investments. Additional resources may come from sponsorships, partnerships, and other approved sources, with funds managed in accordance with the Decree and applicable legislation.
