Sharjah Ruler Engages with Emirates Writers Union Leadership

Sharjah: His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who also serves as the Honorary President of the Emirates Writers Union, held a meeting on Monday morning with the President and Board members of the Union. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place at the headquarters of the Sharjah Book Authority. H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed welcomed the Union's President and members, acknowledging the efforts made to enhance the cultural landscape and support Emirati intellectuals and writers. He highlighted the significance of these efforts in advancing literary and cultural production.

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed emphasized the need for diverse activities and programs that motivate writers to continue their work. He remarked on the value of publications, noting that they should be judged not by their length but by their content and style.

The Ruler of Sharjah also underscored the necessity of cultivating young talents and supporting their development in writing and creativity. This support, he noted, is crucial for ensuring the continued contribution of valuable works to libraries.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan discussed various cultural issues with the Union members, addressing the challenges faced by Emirati writers. He reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that assist writers, enhance their publications, and broaden their reach.

The Emirates Writers Union's President and members expressed gratitude for H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan's unwavering support and active involvement in the Union's activities.
